PN 5081Z, Microtiter Plate (96T)
Zeranol is a xenobiotic anabolic agent, which is legally used in several countries. However, in the EC the anabolics are banned since 1986. Because of close structural resemblance the antibody cross-reacts with both Zeranol and and the mycotoxine Zearalenone and their main metabolites. In cattle (veal calves) the occurrence of zearalenone is rare if well defined feed is administered (milk replacers and soy proteins). The Zeranol EIA is recommended for the screening of urine samples on the presence of Zeranol (100%), Taleranol (133%), Zearalanone (100%), Alpha-Zearalenol (90%), Zearalenone (75%) and Beta-Zearalenol (70%). Stilbenes show a cross-reactivity of less than 0.01% (Diethylstilbestrol, Hexestrol and Dienestrol). 17Beta-Oestradiol, Progesterone and Testosterone cross-react < 0.01%. With this Zeranol EIA a sensitivity of up to 0.1 ng/ml urine can be obtained. |
