Zearalenone is an oestrogenic compound, also known as F-2 mycotoxin, which occurs in cereals and grains but also in banana's, bean leaves, etc. The antibody used in this test cross-reacts with Zeranol and its main metabolites. However, these anabolic compounds do not occur in grains, cereals, etc. The Zearalenone EIA can be used in combination with a fast and simple extraction procedure, or after a solid phase extraction method. |
